Singapore HeritageFest 2006 - Expedition 'H' Trail

It might demoralising to work on a Sunday..but to me..it's definitely alright to me..

It will be the last day I'll work for the company. Singapore HeritageFest 2006 Project, is like a precious 'baby' to me..During my internship, I had spent about 2/3 of my time on this project; doing researches, contacting associations/societies to participate, firming out programme details..all contains my 'blood and sweat'...

Because I was in ICT for the past two weeks...I was not able to walk the ground to bring the participants for the various trails during the last weekend - 15th and 16th..I missed out the fun. Yesterday was supposed to go down too..but decided that I got more important things to do..Forgo my trip down..So left with today..the grand finale..the last day of Singapore HeritageFest 2006.

Brought my participants of about 70 for the trail (Beliefs, Faiths and Brotherhoods), to various locations to know more about Freemasonry, the Baha'i Faith, Jainism and Taoism.

Was suppose to push off the bus at 1.00pm..End up..having to wait for one stupid Angmo, and his gal..for about 20 mins..Reached the Freemason's Hall at Coleman Street..

(pictures....)

OMG..The host partner were so engrossed in introducing their history and artifacts, that we overshot the timing..So dulanz..Keep asking them to hurry up..but they continue talking..Anyway, after that we proceed on to meet the host partner of the Baha'i Faith at Singapore Council Women Organisation (SCWO)...Finally managed to see some pretty girls..Hahaahaa..This is worth the trip..=p

(pictures....)

Timing is tight..push for the 3rd stop point..the Singapore Jain Religious Society at Jalan Yasin..Their food sampling was nice..though it was vegetarian food..they were really tasty.

(pictures....)

By the time we move off from SRJS..it was already past the 5.00pm..the timing that the trail was supposed to end. Awww..Reached the last stop point..Yu Huang Dian Combined Temple at Jurong West..The Taoist group introduced the different deities in the temple..bring a whole new insight to me..

(pictures....)

Tired..But feel great..Event management isn't easy..=) it's a learning experience for me.

Supposedly to meet my army friends for a trip across the border..to CitySquare..Wake up..feeling body aching...Decided to forgo my trip. Anyway..Had been there a few weeks ago..Nothing much...

Watched the repeat telecast of SuperBand..The 4 Finalists are MiLuPeng, Lucify, J3 and Souls..Rooting to watching MiLuPeng to take the title of Superband!! =)

Watched the Pirates of the Carribean 2 at Plaza Singapura..Nice show..Quite hilarious..Ended up..laughing at almost every scene.. =)

Sorry Noinoi, Guanjie and Alex...Didn't accompany you guys for KTV and Supper..Will make it up to you all the next time. =)

So late...still writing this entry...Anyway tomorrow need to work...on my project - Singapore Heritage Festival 2006. It's the last trail..Hopefully I can handle it.. =)

Platoon Outing

A platoon outing was organised on Friday, to commerate the end of our 2nd ICT..

Attendence wasn't very good..as compared to the the previous one which we had after our 1st ICT. Only 12 people turned up..including me..Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable one..

Had steamboat..but i think it is too pricey..Wouldn't be going there for any more steamboat. And it's a disadvantage to me..as i'm allergic to seafood..

Suppose to go to KTV...but then ended up at a Pub KTV...

Continue with our games of drowning ourselves with beers this time..instead of alcohol...Somehow, I feel that I went 'seh' after one glass of beer...Maybe long time never drink beer..Or perhaps..when you are feeling down..it's more easier to get 'seh'...

The outing ended early, as some of them will be crossing the border for a shopping session...

End of 2nd ICT..

I'm back..from the Journey to the West...

Nothing much to write...
Got my marksmen and Ippt Incentive..That's an additional $300 into my pocket. No RT for me this year..Great!

Owe my marksmen to my platoon mates of my detail: Ah Hwa, Weiliang, Sgt Yong Bin, Shunyi and Zhenhui...Without them, our detail wouldn't be able to get marksmen, Thanks guys! You guys shoot better than me..

Ippt..Managed to pass..with 21 points..Somehow, I'm motivated to try to improve my timing for the next Ippt..

Thursday..the day that the whole platoon is looking forward to..HAPPY HOURS! Sponsored by XiaoQiang - Jim Beam and Bombay Sapphire, and Yiming - Vodka Original and Peach. 4 bottles of alcohol..We played cards..Sgt Augustine (B'dae Boy) was first knock out by us..having drink 4 cups of alcohol..Next, was followed by our platoon's 'common enemy'...He drunk more than 10 cups of alcohol...and went 'seh'...saying that he wouldn't vomit...Junren, the unexpected, having drink a full cup...totally went concussed too..To sum up...we have 3 casulties.. Thanks to Junwei, I was the first or perhaps the only one to experience mixing 4 alcohol together in a cup...(taste horrible!!)

The game ended when our common enemy suddenly start puking like a 'fountain'...his chicken chops...fries..satay..fried rice...Awww...That's it..He spoilt the day..But then, I guess we feel guilty too...for making him to drink so much..

The platoon was activated to clean up the bunk...look after him..then look after Junren and Sgt Augustine...Guess we drown them too much...Sighz..

It was only till around 3.30 in the morning, that the 3 of them were feeling better, and sleeping soundly on their bed...before the few 'little kittens' decided to take a rest too. With only about 3 hours of sleep...the same 'little kittens' wake up to have breakfast. After breakfast, the platoon started packing their bags, getting ready to OUT-PROCESS!

Oh..by the way...3rd ICT..a low key one will be at Jurong Camp...on the 16th - 20th July 2007. By that time, I guess our platoon will be more lively with additional manpower, hopefully no one will defer, or downgrade...Just stay the way it is now..

It's back to work or study for most of the platoon mates on Monday...-pat pat- Cya guys next year!

The Hokkaido Fair

Met my friend, Derek at Tampines Mall for lunch at the Central Restaurant..Tried the Cheese Baked Rice with Chicken Chop..Not very tasty..just normal..Think I wouldn't order cheese baked rice anymore..

Then we proceed to walk to the Hokkaido Fair...Quite crowded..and Long queues..Decided to have dessert..so we went to have our ice creams..Yummy!..Ordered ice creams with fruits. I took one with blueberry, while Derek took the raspberry..Hahhaa.

Shopped around..before we set our eyes on polo tees at FOX. Derek planned to get the blue/orange striped polo tees..but too bad, the shop does not have his size...so in the end..I got it. He bought a black polo tee instead. Along the way, He picked up 2 more polo tees (red and dark blue) at Baleno..

Today saw quite a number of familiar faces.
1) the sales girl at FOX..she was once my junior in secondary school..and live near my neighbourhood..Don't think she recognise me..Hehee
2)in the mrt..saw my secondary classmate..Eh..I doubt he remember me too...

Now..its time for me to go back camp le...Bye~ Guys..
Cya back on Sat/Sun..
(letting out a LOUD LOUD LOUD sigh..)

Still can't forget..what to do?

Simple..Just give your blessings..

First week of Reservist

The Journey to the West: (Keep it short and sweet)

Monday
Kind of unexpected..
Ronald was still able to come back for Reservist despite his studies, Kok Ann came back but left on the same night just to clear his medical review for downgrading. Well, he has grown 'rounder'. Hehe. Joel who I expected him to come back, didn't come back..because he just got a new job..so he defered.

So altogether..17 men..5 sergents..1 platoon commanders..The platoon is under-estab. Only 4 teams were formed. The drivers..were supposed to go for jeep orientation, only to know that they have to wait for hours before it was postponed till Wednesday. Evening..was SAR21 revision..to get ready for Tuesday's Combat Shooting Zeroing.

Tuesday
The day was spent at the Range...doing our Zeroing..Tiring day..First time saw the new out-ration boxes..Quite interesting..Think it's definitely more environmentally friendly than the traditional styrofoam boxes.

Wednesday
Suppose to have driving orientation in the morning..but was pushed till the noon..Fun..It's been a long time since I touched my 'second wife' Hahaahaa. Went driving to Lim Chu Kang and our unit camp *SIR..Missed the happy times our platoon had during the 2 years.

Thursday
Combat Shooting..First time trying out the Section Live Firing..At least it's not as siong as ATP Range..where we have to do run down from 300m...For a 6 men section, we managed to score 101 points..out of 120 for the day shoot. For the night shoot, the result was unknown..as it was not announced..So whether we got Marksmen a not...it's still a mystery..The Range was supposed to end at 11pm..but because of SAF's way of operating...it ended around 3.30am!! Reached back camp..bathe...and fall asleep at around 4.30am. What a shag day! Sigh...No complains..we had the 'better luck' than other companies, in terms that we got a training shed to shelter us during rain..and we got to go back to the camp earlier than other companies.

Friday/Saturday
Wake up at 9am. Okie..I only had around 4 hours of sleep. Then came the most feared training lesson - Intra-Venis Infusion (IVs). So me, Zhenhui, and Junwei grouped ourselves. Junwei, give me the IV first..He used the old vein that was once poked by Zhenhui during our active time. OMG! Pain..He was 'navigating' the needle in my vein..I was struggling to remain calm..but I think I reached a stage where I literally went high...Hahhaa. Took him quite some time to finish off...and I lost about 2-3 ml of blood..Next, Zhenhui did his IV on Junwei, everything went smoothly..nice attempt. And lastly, my turn to do my IV on Zhenhui, it went in smoothly too..The warrant officer keeps asking me to insert in further, so scare that I will hurt my buddy..haha. Thanks God, I didn't bring him as much pain as Junwei had gave me. Duhz..

Prepared our stores for the outfield..Was supposed to move off at 8pm..but then it delayed again..till 12am. Nothing interesting about the outfield..Execrise was cut at around 7am, and return back to camp. For the first time, Scout was last to insert...and the first to come back. In military context, Scout was always first to insert and the last to come back. Hahaha..Anyway we had our breakfast back in camp..and sleep till around 1pm..before heading for lunch. Book-out at around 5pm..and reached home at around 7pm..

Will need to book in tomorrow...at 23:00..So meanwhile..I will make full of the time available..

Sidenote:
I'm so glad that while I'm in camp...there is someone who I can send sms to...to keep me free from boredom..especially the night at Lim Chu Kang..with the stary night..and the bright moonlight..it's been a long time looking at the sky filled with little sparkling diamonds...

Well..Reservist wasn't that boring after all, with all your friends around you..It's just bond us closer, and of course..make us know each other better, to know who are true friends. Friends who you used to dislike..have turned out to be better-liking persons..This builds the friendship. However, there are some (or one) who will still remain as the platoon's..most dislike person..

The Sequel..Ends

Well..I guess everything is over..

Still remember the story about the person on the verge of hanging himself, with the rope around his neck..Now..the platform below..opens up..Yeah He's dead..

I'm not going to say any more things..that's it.

Graduated!

Finally managed to get back the results of my exam papers..It was released on 12 July..But due to my 'commitment' to my Reservist...I wasn't able to check the results till I got back home just..half an hour ago..

Passed my two papers with Distinction. So this marks the my end of my studies...and I'm suppose to be declared an University Graduate in Bachelaor of Commerce (Marketing & Public Relations). Hahaha..10 Distinctions, 8 Credits..1 Pass..5 Exempted...That's all!!

Now just waiting for my Certificate..

When there are good news...there will always be bad news too...

Suddenly..I feel very troubled..

Maybe I shall stop pouring my feelings into this blog anymore..Like what my friend commented..90% of my entries are about unhappy stuffs..So most likely, I will not write as frequently as before..Perhaps..if there are more than 10 people who insisted that I shall continue to pen my feelings here..I will. (Write down your comments.)

Decided to lock them back in my heart again. Throw the key away. The One who manages to find the key, will have access. Do you want to try your luck?

Guess this 2 weeks..is really a good time for me to sort my thoughts..

Our Journey to the West

Just a few more hours, commanders and men of 7xx SIR will embarked on a 'Journey to the West' for 2 weeks..Book-in at 7.00am..at Tanjong Gul Camp..at Tuas area..So far!! Somemore tonight, gt the World Cup Finals, the battle between France and Italy at 2.00am. Who will win? To someone who seldom or never really into soccer matches, if the hot favourite is Italy, I shall take France..Hahhaa. Nah I didn't bet..So it doesn't matter.

Tomorrow will really be a MONDAY BLUES to all people..Hahaha!!

Finally finish packing all my stuffs into my big barang bag..No..not the Alibaba Bag we had during army days..HEAVY! I wondered why do we need to bring those standard items..so ley chey..aw...

This year ICT..our platoon is down with a few people again..namely section 1...only left with Weiliang, Lawrence, AhHwa, Eddy and Junren; section 2 include me, Zhenhui, Junwei, Shunyi, Terence and Shaowei; Section 3..Sing kwang, Eric, Joel, Lao Heng, Soon Siang and Eng Keong. That's all.
Downgraded personnels: Benjamin and Kok Ann..
Deferred personnels: Dashun, Russell, Ronald (possible)
Commanders? Messy...No idea..

Wonder if there are any new personnels joining our platoon..Hmmm..

Hope this Reservist will provide our friends (or me) to take a break from their daily work routine; to sort out some thoughts and last but not least to meet up with old-times friends.

So while I'm away..from 10th - 15th and 17th - 21st...Please do not miss me. SMS me if you need to find me..CYA~~

Not the One - 你要的不是我

Chatted up, Sorted up some of our feelings..Cleared up the some misunderstandings..

Never knew that the answer will be announced to me today...Not that shocking..Kinda expected it since 2 months ago..Now, Everything feels great! Seems like some loads have been taken away from our shoulders..As promised, we are still friends.

Feel abit lighter..
But I know deep inside..somewhere, someplace..is tearing.. or was it bleeding?
Releapses happen and I wonder if one day, it will become a heart failure for me..
Then, everything will be just flashbacks..

Take care~

Daiso Supermarket

Received a sms in the morning from my friend, Ed asking me to accompany him to buy things. Since I got nothing planned for the day...I agreed.

We went to Daiso (A big supermarket that sells everything at $2) at IMM. Before that, we had our lunch at the foodcourt..Recently..I have this cravings for fillets..Dunno why? Anyway, I ordered rice with fried dory fillet..Hmm..

We bought alot of things from there..erm..mainly he bought those stuffs..not me. Spending about $30 in Daiso..Hahaha..We went to this toy section, and we behave like little kids, browsing through all the toys and playing with them..Ed bought 3 toys for himself..and 1 for his nephew.

It was a fun day! Can you imagine we spend about 2-3 hours in that supermarket just looking at the stuff..hehe. feel like a child at that moment..

Lately, its seems that I've been going out frequently...every day or alternate days with frens' company..Trying to remain on the cheerful side. =) Hope friends around me will stay cheerful too.

p/s: Daiso will be opening their second branch at Plaza Singapura..So next time, no need to go so far to IMM..

Strange feeling..

I always wondered...
Why I cared so much about my friends around me..
Why wasn't I given the ability to cheer them up when they feel upset or troubled..

Am I just a good listener only? But not able to provide constructive solutions to them? Sometimes..thinking back..i look kinda useless..not being able to provide any help when they need it the most, not being able to provide the shoulder for them to cry on..I wish I can do something for them.

Sighz..
Because whenever they feel down..my mood gets affected too..

Dinner at Manhattan Fish Market

Today went to Plaza Singapura to meet my poly group of friends, Alex, Alvin, Pearlyn, Noinoi, Guanjie, Geryl and Marilyn. It's really been a long time, since we have a big gathering..The only missing girl, Felicia, due to the need to work OT, couldn't join us. Too bad...Wonder how has she been doing, didn't catch up with her for a long time too..

After much decision, choices between Ichiban Sushi and Manhattan Fish Market..We decided to go for the latter. Had heard and read reviews that the foods are good..some even commented that they are much better than Fish & Co's.

Ordered my all-time favourites - Fish & Chips. Quite nice..However, I still prefer Fish & Co's one, the fries and sauce..there's a slight differences..more tasty.

taking a break..

Decided to take a small break today...Decided to go on a short trip to JB with Andrew and Sharon. Like a mini excursion..hehe.

Went to City Square..Basically nothing much..Shop around..But nothing catches my eyes. Andrew bought a white colour belt...almost identical to mine one..Sharon bought a t-shirt and some accessories..Oh we had our lunch at Secret Recipes..The foods are tasty...

After that around 5pm..we decided to call it a day..because me and Andrew are supposed to meet another group of friends at Marina Square for dinner at 6.30pm. On the train, my phone keep ringing..my colleague lor...keep asking my some questions about work..Sigh..I still can't totally shed my responsibility in the company..Answered his queries..That's all I can do for him..

Met Jason, Vance and Winson at this HongKong Restaurant at MS..(1st floor - facing the escalators down to CityLink) I ordered the Baked Cheeese Rice with Fillet...Not to my satisfaction..maybe will try other main courses next time. After that..its jalan jalan again..Hehe..i've been coming to Marina Square quite frequent hor..

Great feeling~

Today..went to fulfil the mission for Task 2..Great feeling..Guess the change in Jeff is starting..Hehe. Maybe after Reservist..can still go do something else..Should I?

Today went to Ig's Heaven to buy the perfume atomizer..I've been hoping to buy it..But because I took a long time to consider..I didn't buy it..Now due to GSS 2006, they are having a 70% discount...Usual price is $46+...After discount..only $13..HEHE..So happy! Later gonna, pour CK One perfume (a present from my friend) into it..Hmm..the other one..I should pour my Polo Ralph Romance..

Then later, I went to meet Andrew for jalan jalan..and dinner..He brought me to this stall selling Japanese cold noodles (located at the Ex-Nokia Service Shop) Tried a small sampling..it tastes nice..Maybe next time, I will buy.

I'm going Malaysia tomorrow~ =)

The appointment

As mentioned before..I'm soooo looking forward to this appointment. What is this mysterious appointment that I'm talking about??? Hahaha..it's none other than my FIRST facial wash. Yeah..something that I wanted to do..but didn't plan the time for it...either busy with work or else with school projects. So I asked my Brother to help me book an appointment, using his package..its free for me, don't need to pay a single cent~~

I got this serious problems of blackheads and acnes on areas around my nose; Quite disturbing for me..

I reached the place and waited for about 10 mins. The Boss was still doing facial wash for a customer. As I was waiting, I looked around the room..The place got a nice ambience, playing calm music, and serving me with this cup of fragrance tea...

Want to know how my first experience of facial wash??

Well, He cleanses my face with some sorts of lotions..I mean he use many different types of lotions/creams...because, everytime he applies..I smell something different. Believe me..they really smell nice...got this fruity or flowery smell...I'm totally engrossed in the smells..Feel my mood lightens a lot..

Then He uses this 'steam' machine, and continues to apply lotions on my face..I suppose this process is to open up my pores..By now , my mind was now going a stage of trance due to inhaling all the different kind of smells from the lotions/creams...suddenly all the sweet memories came flowing into my mind..Deep inside my heart...I knew I was smiling. hehe..A bit crazy..

Next He uses something like the Biore's Pore Packs..except that they are bigger in pieces and more effective than Biore's. He paste them on my nose, cheeks and chin. After waiting for 5 mins, He pull them out! OUCHH..painful sia! Then He shows me the whiteheads left on the patches..commenting that my daily facial wash is not doing a good job.

This is the most terrible part...the purging of blackheads and treating my acnes! Okie..during the whole process, I was closing my eyes...so I had totally no idea what tools is He using on me...He uses this tool, I suppose is tweezer and starts 'digging' on my nose gently..Not much of a pain...UNTIL He suddenly starts using another tool (I supppose or was it the same tool?), to poke on my nose. Damn Pain!! (It's sort of like using a needle to poke on your skin..that 'kind of feeling') Everytime He does that, I frowned..Think He poked at least 10 times..on my nose..Then He starts using some infra-red device..and scan around my nose and chin area..Can feel some heat radiating from the device...There seems to be some 'Red ants bite' feeling on my nose and chin area..Not exactly as painful as the purging of blackheads.

The last process..is to close back the pores. This involves the use of cooling lotions/creams on my face. I know He again...applies one layer after another..My face was sooooo cool..got this minty smell...Then the last step was to put a cooling mask. He put a a cloth sort of like wire-mesh..then cut the 'nose' portion for me to breathe..before He applies the last coat of lotion/cream. Waited for around another 10 mins, before He removes the mask and does the final cleansing.

Lying there stiffly for around 2 hours...my head went spinning when I tried to get up from the bed. He gave me some creams and lotions..for me to cleanse my face and prevent infection on my nose.

Feel very satisfied after this facial wash..90% of the blackheads are gone! And my face got this firmy touch, bouncy bouncy feeling..Hehee...so nice and smooth to touch..

I think its a good move..to change myself..Am I vain? Hahhaaa. Think I will plan to start going for facial treatment every few months..

Jeffrey. Yeah! You had succeeded in making your first move..1st Task Completed. 2nd Task on the way~~~No procrastination!!

BBQ..with my secondary friends

Will be meeting my few close secondary friends for BBQ at East Coast. Hope it wil be a pleasant outing.. =)

9.55am - I'm back at home!! I'm so tired..I didn't sleep the whole night...so it means I'm been awake since yesterday 7am...that's more than 24 hours..and now I'm blogging...Later in the afternoon, got to go for an important appointment. One that I've been sooooo looking forward (if you have guessed correctly...Yep..it's one of the two tasks that I have been procrastinating). I wonder how it will turn out to be. Excited!! Excited!! Excited!!

Now, I found that's something unusual about me...Quite often in any BBQ sessions, I will always end up being the Cook, preparing foods for my friends. Personally, I really enjoy cooking for them. Please...don't doubt my cooking ability...I do make sure that they are 100% cooked. Hehehe. =P However, I don't usually eat alot...I feel full after preparing the foods for them.

We played Monopoly throughout the night..I'm the first one to be declared bankrupt..Hahaha. So pathetic..Only managed to get the the deeds for Orchard Rd, Tanglin Road and Scott Road..They were building houses and hotels around other places...and I failed to build any because my luck was so bad..that I didn't manage to step onto my lands again after buying the lands..To make matter worse, those 3 areas...are the least 'profitable' lands. BoOOo.

Received a belated present from them. Thanks a lot guys! Got a wallet from them. The wallet that I'm using now was given by someone dear to me...about five/six years ago..I treasured it so much..that I refused to change my wallet because some of my friends feel that the leather is quite worn out. Now I think it's time to change le..But I will still keep that old wallet in a safe place. =)
